Christmas - 2011

This was our first Christmas not to travel to either parents' house.  We stayed put in Orangeburg, SC because my doctor did not want me traveling this late in the pregnancy.  So, our parents came here.  Well, they came the day after Christmas, but Blaire can't tell time or read a calendar, so we started Christmas on Tuesday instead of Sunday.  When I say "started" I mean it.  It took Blaire 4 days to open all of her presents.  It is not like we overloaded her or anyone bought her too much stuff, she just never opened more than 3 or 4 presents a day.   Limited attention span, or need to thoroughly and exhaustively play with each new item?

This is Blaire Christmas morning....a little confused about the easel in the middle of the floor.

Here she is checking out her new tricycle with streamers, a bell, and a helmet; which she refers to as "my stripes."

This is right after she opened her gift from Aunt Brenda and Uncle Keith.  I don't want to say she has a favorite gift, but we have worn this non-stop since opening it.  We are Princess Belle everyday.  I have had to wash it 4 times already.  There were a few days in there where it stayed relatively clean, so I skipped doing laundy.

This would have to be her next favorite gift... princess crown.  She has played with it and worn it so much we had to reglue it a few times.   But, she loves being a princess!

As for Jon and I, it was wonderful just having the grandparents here and someone else to share the high-octane energy of Blaire with.   She was a little confused when they all left and it was only us again, but she is adjusting to the lack of attention.

For those of you not sure of where Blaire gets her looks, here is a pictures of her with her Uncle Ben on his birthday (the southern girl in her says, "Unca Bin").

If we had made it past 9:30 on New Year's Eve, I am sure we would have had some great pictures, but since we did not and Blaire was out by 7:30, all we have to offer is Happy New Year's!
