The New 18 Month Standard

Last Friday we had Blaire's 18 month check-up.

She asked what sounds Blaire could make. So, I asked Blaire, "What does a lion say?" She roared. Then, "what does a rhinerous say?" She snuffed.

Then the doctor asked her, "what does a cow say?"

"Moo."

"What does a sheep say?"

"Baa."

"What does a pig say?"

"La, La, La."

Oh, how the doctor laughed. She said that Sandra Boyton was changing the sound of pigs for all toddlers. In the last month, she said that most of the children she saw, said the pigs say, "la, la, la."

Needless to say, we are practicing our "oinks" now.
